Role of façade shades in energy efficiency in commercial buildings

Abstract Energy consumption and production all over the world is a key contributor to climate change due resultant emissions of CO 2 . To meet national goal achieving net zero carbon by 2070, current trends in energy need be addressed, with building sector accounting for 40% global consumption. In India, heating, cooling lighting load commercial buildings has increased from 32% 46% past two decades. demands can sustainably reduced means conservation measures, particularly during design stage. As new spaces crowded cities, multi-storeyed glass façade emerged out continues popular design. This paper examines role shading elements pulling down harnessing required daylight comfort. Daylight, energy, solar insolation glare patterns are analysed existing Noida on basis which different configurations proposed computer simulation, using Ecotect, eQUEST software Radiance tool. Based analysis, three cogent designs discussed optimum shade identified.
